Review: 3D Revelator 8.11.99
By: Jarret Griffis

Remember when you were a kid and they had those nifty 3D glasses for you to put on when at the movies?  On one side, there was a red piece of plastic that you looked through, and on the other, blue.  I was only about five or six when I put on my first pair and saw Jaws in 3D for the first time.  Watching that enormous shark pop out of the screen nearly scared me to death: I started screaming, yanked off the glasses, and threw them about five rows down into the crowd.

Unfortunately, the 3D-Movie fad was relatively short lived.  3D Glasses, however, are still showing plenty of life.  A short time ago, Metabyte introduced one of the first sets of consumer-level stereoscopic 3D glasses.  But instead of using blue and red colors to make an image appear to pop out of the screen, shutters were used.  The result was a much more realistic (and expensive) experience.  In short, it brought us one step closer to the dream of a fully 3D, highly immersive gaming environment.

The 3D Revelator is the next step in stereoscopic technology.   Capable of running nearly every Direct 3D game in existence in any resolution, and at refresh rates up to 140 Hz, Elsa's latest 3D glasses look to take the gaming world by storm.
