Review: Matrox Millennium G400 9.10.99
By: Jarret Griffis

The bundle Matrox included clearly wasn't intended to excite anyone.  With Rage Software's Expendable being the only full version game, casual gamers are not the target audience for the G400.  A few tech demo's, a DVD Player, and a few other melancholy programs are included -- none of which will garner very much attention.

Expendable is perhaps the only saving grace for the G400's underwhelming bundle.  The isometric shooter pits you, a genetically engineered space marine, against a vast horde of aliens.  Needless to say, a mindless shooter can be a blast when done right, and Expendable has definitely been done right.  And with a two-player option thrown into the mix, you're almost guaranteed to have more than a few sleepless nights.

The documentation is of standard Matrox fare, which is generally pretty short.  However, the 18 page manual has more than enough information to get the G400 up and running. Instructions for installing the card in both Windows '98 and NT are included, as well as a trouble shooting guide just in case any problems are encountered.  For those new to computer hardware, illustrated pictures are included to get you through the "tough" parts.
