Abit KR7A-133R mainboard |

Recently, Abit sent us an updated version of their KR7A-RAID motherboard --
the KR7A-133A. As it's name indicates, the KR7A-133R sports ATA133 RAID
functionality, courtesy of its integrated Highpoint HPT372 controller. It also
offers a standard ATA133 channel, thanks to its updated Northbridge, the VT8233A
(part and parcel of the KT266A chipset). As expected, the KR7A-133R also
includes the popular Soft Menu III BIOS system, which has always been a hit with
the Overclocking crowd. It also forgoes the inclusion of an integrated
sound-card -- much like its predecessor -- in the expectation that its users
will likely wish to install their own sound-solutions.

AOpen \'Strong Power\' FSP 300-60BT(12V) Power Supply
Review |
At Bjorn3d we aren't above exploiting a staffmember's tragedy to bring the
best in hardware reviews to you, our readers. When Neal's powersupply died
recently he had no choice but to go and buy a new one, out of pocket, on the
local economy and ended up snagging an AOpen "Strong Power" 300 watt model.
So how did this unexpected purchase work out for him? That's what we wanted
to know too so we had him write up a full review once he got his machine working
again! Read on to find out what he thought of this "smart fan" equipped unit.

Mouse Bungee Review |
We finally got one of these in-house for some testing. It's not going to
revolutionize anything, but it does a pretty good job of securing the mouse
cord. Question is, does anyone really need this?
"I stated before that the Bungee is a frivolous expense, and I still think it
is. It does look nice, and keeps the mouse cord off the desk, but that's about
it. It does make a nice conversation piece though, as the last LAN party I
attended, some babe walked by and mentioned how cool it looked.

PCMods Cold Cathode Light Kit Review |
TweakTown has just posted a review of the new PCMods Cold Cathode Light Kit,
except with a difference.
"Neon lighting is very cool. The concept was originally designed for
companies to advertise their products or services through eye-catching neon lit
signs, then it was introduced into the club scene and then eventually into PC
casing by case modders worldwide. Today TweakTown, or should we say DJ Tweak,
tells us about the new PCMods.com Cold Cathode Light Kit and just what we can do
with it, branching away from regularity into a pretty cool and new concept, just
waiting for you to see."

P4 Dragon 478 Review |
Tweakers Australia has just posted a review on the Thermaltake P4 Dragon 478
Heatsink
Snip: Thermaltake was the first on the block with the 'Orb'
style heatsink, and then furthered their success with the introduction of the
'Dragon Orb'. The Dragon series heatsinks have been very popular among PC
enthusiasts, not only for their excellent cooling properties but also for their
funky design. Traditionally the Dragon Orb was suited exclusively for AMD and
PIII based systems, but now there is a new breed that supports Socket 478 P4's.
Introducing the Thermaltake P4 Dragon 478 - it's big, it's mean, and it's shiny!

Lian Li PC70 review |
A 'lil quote - 'Computer cases have come a long way in the past couple of
years both in their functionality and particularly in their appearance. It seems
manufacturers are starting to realise the potential selling power of a good
looking case and designs are venturing away from the steel and plastic standard.
The thermal conductive properties and appearance of aluminium especially mean it
has become one of the newer materials that is becoming more common. Lian Li and
Coolermaster have since become the market leaders of cases in this material but
are they worth their high prices ?...'

CeBIT 2002 Feature |

The Guru of 3D posted a 17 page report on their visit of the CeBIT 2002.
Waaaaay too many Gefore4 and custom Radeon images can be found in there, visits
to NVIDIA, ATI, Videologic and Hercules set a nice overall tone and some pretty
interesting info can be found in this feature ;)
"Another question that I asked was if the next series videocards would be
called GeForce. There are a lot of rumors from several sources that tell me that
the next generation will no longer be named GeForce. Well, as you can image both
Andrew and Luciano 'did not know' and where unable to confirm or deny this
information."

TweakTown has just posted a review of the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP Motherboard.
Here's a snip:
"What do you think about when you here the name Gigabyte?
A low-end OEM manufacturer of motherboards? To most of us, this hits the nail
right on the head, but it looks as though things may be changing rather
dramatically. Come join TweakTown as they take a hard look at the Gigabyte
GA-7VRXP Motherboard. Do the Gigabyte folks finally have something to bring to
the table for those who proudly call themselves Overclocking Enthusiasts? Let's
find out!"

Cooler Master Heat Pipe & Alps |

With all the new exciting coolers from companies such as Thermaltake,
GlobalWIN and Zalman over the past few months I have been left hungry for more.
So naturally I went hunting for more high quality cooling goodness. All these
new coolers featured very eye catching designs that either involved bright
colorful designs or strange yet unique designs. Take the GlobalWIN TAK68 for
example, unique clip design, odd heatsink shape and most importantly great
performance.

Antec PP-412X PSU Review |
In the review, we compare it with Antec’s sibling, the PP-352X, and face it
off in a 5v/12v Rails chart with an Enermax EG-651P PSU. Which PSU has better
Rails? Here’s a snip:
“No matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to squeeze any more performance out of
my setup. Then it dawned on me: 350W of power isn’t nearly enough to be running
an overclocked Athlon XP system. Even with a high-quality power supply (Antec
SmartPower 350W, PP-352X), bad things had started happening; Random reboots,
voltage fluctuations at idle, major 5.0v dips during load. It was time to take
things up a notch - center-stage; the Antec PP-412X Power supply.”

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a well received World War II first person
shooter game. If you have played the game before then you know its beautiful
graphics can bring even the fastest systems to crawl at some point, specially
during some of its rather large scale battles. 3D Spotlight's guide will take
you through configuring the multitude of options available for the game and
other useful information, such as getting 3D audio support in the Game.
